Ethan Barron - Head Coach

Coach Ethan Barron 2002 marked the beginning of Ethan's coaching career at Tufts. In 2005, he took over the helm of the Men's Cross Country/Track and Field team. In his first year as a head coach, the Jumbos finished 5th at the Cross Country National Championships and haven't looked back since. Fighting for regional titles in every season, Coach Barron's athletes have earned 25 All American and 52 Academic All American honors under his tenure.

Now in his 11th year, the team has continued to gain strength, including NESCAC and New England titles and strong performances at the national championships in all three seasons. He holds degrees in Mathematics and Chemistry from Middlebury, as well as a Masters in Education from Tufts. He is currently finishing up a second Masters in Cognitive Development at Tufts Eliot-Pearson Department of Child Development.

Over the past four years the Jumbo coaching staff has earned an impressive eight Staff of the Year awards. When asked about the program's successes, Ethan emphatically says, "You are only as strong as those that surround you, but with these assistants and athletes—I feel invincible."
