Nick Welch - Assistant Coach, Distance / Middle Distance

Nick is a 2010 graduate of Tufts University. A three-season competitor for the Jumbos, Nick captained the cross country and track squads for both his junior and senior years. He earned numerous All Region honors in cross country, 5000m, and steeplechase. He twice completed the steeple/5k double at NESCACs, earning All Conference honors in both. With a PR of 14:39.68, Nick competed on the national stage for both cross country and track and field.

Born and raised in Seattle, WA, Nick enjoys cooking, traveling, and playing guitar. He earned degrees in International Relations and Spanish while at Tufts and, in addition to coaching the Jumbos, is pursuing a Masters in Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning. He continues to compete in XC, track, and road races with New Balance Boston.
