Leading the Tufts squad to the line was junior Anyenda Inyagwa finishing in 13th place in a time of 27:46. Close on his heels were senior Chad Uy in 27:51 and junior Jesse Dunklee, returning to the team and coming off injury, running a strong 27:58. Those times were good for 15th and 17th places respectively. Rounding out the scoring five for the Jumbos squad were senior Dan Sullivan (28:18, 22nd place) and freshman Ben Silver (28:39, 30th place) both having very solid performances on an uneven Keene course. Closing hard over the last two miles were juniors Alex Bloom and Rony Jacques running times of 29:42 and 30:17.
The Tufts squad has worked on racing together in packs and today's race was another fine example of that as Inyagwa, Uy and Dunklee all ran in a tight group for 13th, 15th and 17th places and Sullivan, Silver and sophomore Andrew Lee (28:43) ran in a strong pack for the majority of the 5 mile race.
It was a spectacular fall day for a cross country race with balmy temperatures and bright sunshine and the Jumbos return home to rest up for next weeks All NE meet with another strong showing under their belts.
