The second seven of the Tufts team woke up at the crack of dawn and made the journey to Williamstown, MA, for this year's ECAC meet at Williams' home course at Mount Greylock High School. It was a beautiful fall day, with the sun shining and temperatures in the upper 40's. The ECAC squad geared up for the race, trying to keep warm before the race.

The field started out fast, as the starting line quickly narrowed after about 200 meters to 5 or 6 runners wide. Runners threw elbows and jostled to get into a good position heading around the first few fields of the course, to try and set themselves up for the hilly woods loop, where it was difficult to pass. At one point in the course the runners had to tackle a 300-meter long hill, once at about the two-mile mark, and again at about four miles.

Freshman Ryan Lena led the way for the Jumbos, taking 30th place with a time of 27:19, despite having fallen in the first quarter-mile of the race. Junior Anyenda Inyagwa finished close behind Lena with a time of 27:26 and 35th place overall. The Jumbos continued to finish strong, with a spread of only 39 seconds among the scorers. Working as a pack the rest of the Jumbos finished close together: senior Peter Goransson and sophomore David Tilton finished two seconds apart, in 52nd and 53rd place, respectively. Freshman Ben Silver finished in 61st place, with senior Dan Sullivan only nine seconds behind in 70th place, and sophomore Andrew Lee rounded out the Tufts squad in 108th.
