Jumbos Finish 3rd at NESCAC Championships
(4/24/2004) Full ResultsThe Jumbos came away from the NESCAC Championships at Trinity College with a 3rd place finish, narrowly loosing out 2nd to Bates. In the throws, studs Jason Galvin and Dan March each launched hammer career bests. In the pole vault, sophomore Seth LaPierre's vault of 15'00.5" made him conference champion. Fred Jones's efforts in the long jump and triple jump made him double champion. Freshman Joshua Kennedy was also NESCAC champion, taking the crown in the 10,000 meter run, ahead of Peter Bromka who finished 2nd.
The team was helped by a 2-3 finish in the 5,000 meters from Nate Brigham and Matt Lacey. Brigham had the chance to run at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia on the Thursday night preceding the NESCAC meet, posting a provisional national qualifying mark in the 10,000 meters.
