Faller Qualifies for Nationals in 10k
(4/2/2010) Full ResultsAfter four years, two 5k All American honors, and three school records, senior Jesse Faller finally embarked on his 1st ever 10k. And he did so with resounding success. One month after his 3rd place finish at the indoor national championships, Faller headed south to Princeton's Sam Howell Invitational with his eyes set on a national provisional mark for the 10,000m run. In the end, he would come away with an automatic qualifier and the 2nd fastest 10k in school history.
His mark of 30:13.97 currently sits at 3rd in the country and guarantees him a spot at the Outdoor National Championships this May. Faller put together one of his best races of his career at Tufts as he negative split his 1st 10k. Opening up in a relaxed 15:15, Faller closed brilliantly with a final 5k in 14:58. His closed strong with a final mile in 4:37 and last lap of 63.
Faller has excellent range from the 800m thru the 10k and is a great asset to the Jumbo squad as they head into their championship meets later this month. The Tufts squad plays host to both the NESCAC and New England Championships at the end of April. But first they
