Scott finishes third in the Hillside Relays Decathlon
(4/7/2005)First year Nate Scott finished third this afternoon in his first ever collegiate decathlon, with a point total of 5468. He had solid performances in the hurdles (17.83), discus (28.58m from a stand), and an exceptional run in the 1500m (4:31.02). Nate won all three straight running events (100, 400, and 1500) and the long jump (6.31m). With some work in the pole vault (2.32m), Nate stands to do exceptionally well at the New England Decathlon in a few weeks.
Tyler Danen of UNH won the competition with a very strong second day, finishing with a total of 5765, 2794 of which came on day two. Jeff Ossinger of Williams was second with 5729, David Doiron of UNH was fourth with 5127, Steven Berry of Fitchburg State was fifth with 4210 and Dan O'Hara of UNH was sixth with 4183.
