Rainy Division III Championships
(5/5/2005) Full ResultsThe New England Division III Championships hosted by Springfield College represented a great opportunity for Jumbos to post performances against the best competition in New England. Unfortunately, the meet was dampened by unseasonably cold weather for the third week in a row. The conditions were frustrating considering the outdoor season was already shortened by a rained-out meet at the beginning of the season. The team's performance earned them a fifth place finish.
Thrower Jason Galvin's performance in the hammer throw was one of the highlights of the meet for the Jumbos. His throw of 51.32 meters (168-4) was good enough to qualify him provisionally for NCAAs. Jason and most of the other Jumbos hope to post better marks at the upcoming All New England Championship, where the team will meet New England teams from all divisions. The meet is hosted by the University of New Hampshire. A few members of the team will travel to Princeton for the IC4A Championship.
The techies apologize for the brevity of these write-ups. Finals are putting everyone on the team under a considerable amount of pressure. Thanks for your understanding.
