Fred Jones jumped 14.98 meters (49'1.75) in the triple jump to set a new school record and earn him second place at the NCAA national championship Saturday afternoon.

Fred also competed in the long jump, which took place Thursday afternoon. Poor weather forced the event to take place inside. Fred placed 7th with a leap of 7.16 meters (23'6). Fred's performances earned him All-American honors in both the long jump and the triple jump. Also competing Thursday in the poor weather was senior Nate Brigham, who placed 14th in a 10,000 meter race that was characteristically tactical.

In the 5K Saturday evening, Matt Lacey briefly led the chase pack midway through the race, but faded to 16th, with Nate fading to 18th. More to come. The meet is hosted by Wartburg College.
