Small Squad Hits Keene
(10/1/2005) Full ResultsWhile the varsity group rested up for big races coming up in the next two races, the rest of the team went to work on the deceptively challenging Keene St course. Once again pack running was the plan for the Jumbos, and this plan was executed perfectly with the top five guys all running together through the three-mile mark. Anyenda Inyagwa, Peter Goransson, Skye Isard, Nate Cleveland ,and Andrew Lee took this opportunity to set the pace for the team, running smart and level for the entire race. Alex Bloom and Matt Alander moved up together very well during the race and end up finishing as Tufts' 5th and 6th runners. This was Bloom's first time scoring for the Jumbos and his time of 29:11 was almost 3 minutes faster than he ran on this course last year. The Jumbos squad was rounded out by strong performances from Sam Krumholz, Rony Jacques, Marcelo Norsworthy, Steve Leibowitz, and John Jacques. This left Tufts in 6th place out of the 9 competing teams that included DI Dartmouth, DII UMass Lowell, and a Baldwin Wallace team that came all the way from Ohio to run this meet. All the Jumbos will return to action next Saturday at the All New England Championships next weekend held in Franklin Park in Boston.
