Scott grew up in a small cottage on top of a windy mountain. The altitude led to two major things. First, a sick aerobic capacity. Second, some slow HS PRs. Scott walked on to the TUXC squad after breaking his collarbone in the summer leading into college. With minimal base he still exceeded all expectations and continued to dominate his PRs on the track. He brought that momentum into his sophomore year as his PR's continued to plummet to their current standing. It has become a rare occurrence that Scott McArthur does not PR when he sets foot on the track (when he doesn't pass out at least).
