The Tufts men's cross country team placed third out of seven teams at the annual Keene State Cross Country Invitational in New Hampshire on Saturday. Running against host Keene, the #1 team in New England, the Jumbos placed three runners in the top 11. Junior J.R. Cruz (Centereach, NY) was the first Tufts finisher and fifth overall with a 26:04 time, followed closely by senior co-captain David Patterson (Shutesbury, MA) in eighth overall (26:14). Junior Ben Smith (Noank, CT) was 11th in 26:34.
The championship season starts this week as Tufts races in the All-New England Championship Race at Frankin Park on Friday.
