7 Jumbos Earn Academic All American Honors
(7/14/2008)Seven Tufts Jumbos were named to the 2008 Track and Field Academic All American Team in a press release by the the USTFCCCA today. By qualifying for the national championships and carrying a cumulative GPA in excess of 3.25 these Jumbos further separated themselves from the best in the country. Together they further demonstrated how Tufts\' students are truly scholar/athletes. Only the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota had more All Americans than the Jumbos this year with nine.
The Jumbo seven gave the Tufts Cross Country and Track & Field program a total of 33 Academic All Americans over the past three years - an unprecedented number of national caliber scholars.
David Sorensen (Sr), James Bradley (Jr), Trevor Donadt (So), Jesse Faller (So), Billy Hale (So), Andrew Longley (So), and Greg Pallotta (Fr) all proved their strengths in the classroom and on the track this season/semester.
With Sorensen being the lone senior among the group, it should be quite exciting to follow the rest of them throughout their coming seasons.
