Jumbos Take Top Spot in DMR, HJ, and Pent

Right here at home in the Gantcher Center on the first day of competition at the ECAC indoor championships, the squad of juniors Billy Hale, Scott Brinkman, Jesse Faller and senior Philip Rotella put up a huge win in the fast section of the DMR, coming from behind to edge out Muhlenberg for the victory in dramatic fashion. On his home track, Faller got the baton in great position just off runners from RIT, Muhlenberg, and Trinity, and ran down all three with a 58 second last 400. The first place finish not only defended their nationally ranked position from other ECAC teams, but their time of 10:00.63, though slower than the unconverted school record 9:59.33 they ran at BU last week, was just tenths off the NCAA automatic qualifier of 10:00.00 and moves them several spots up the NCAA performance list. They are currently 5th in the nation.
