While the bulk of TUTF's running athletes competed at Boston University on Saturday, the field event athletes jumped and threw at the MIT Invitational across the river.

The Jumbos finished the meet with four victories and several top-five finishes. Senior Gbola Ajayi notched two of them, winning the long jump with a leap of 22'0 ¼" (6.71m) and the triple at 46'8 ¾" (14.24m). The latter currently ranks 12th nationally. Meanwhile, senior captain Brad Nakanishi was again victorious in the pole vault, clearing 15'1" (4.60m). Sophomore Brian Williamson recorded Tufts' other victory, throwing the shot 49'3 ½" (15.02m).

Senior captain Curtis Yancy also competed well for the Jumbos, placing second in the weight throw with a toss of 58'3 ¼" (17.76m) The throw currently ranks 15th nationally. He was backed by senior Andre Figueroa, who recorded a distance of 50'0 ¾" (15.26m) to place third.

Across town, the sprinters and distance runners added their own PRs and nationally ranked times, completing what was easily the strongest weekend of competition for the Jumbos yet. Next weekend, they host the Tufts Stampede on Saturday, but the multis take center stage on Friday night for the Tufts Multi. Don't miss it.
