In their first visit to Wickham Park, Tufts took on tough competition from both the Trinity Bantams and the heat that hit Connecticut on Saturday. The Jumbos took second at the 7-team invitational, putting three runners in the top 10 and compiling 43 points behind sophomore Jesse Faller's 2nd place finish. Senior Dave Sorensen and junior Nick Welch were not far behind on the 5k course, finishing 6th and 7th, respectively.

Freshmen littered the Jumbos top seven at Wickham, with Greg Pallotta, Jeff Ragazzini, and Jerzy Eisenberg-Guyot taking 13th, 15th, and 20th, respectively.
Senior Matt Alander rounded out the top seven for Tufts, in 28th place.

The Bantams took four out of the top five spots at their home invitational and had nine runners in the top 25 to cruise to first place. Junior Hunter Norte, the individual winner of both NESCACs and Div. III New England Regionals last season, led the field with a time of 16:22.

Many other Jumbos had solid efforts, including sophomore Billy Hale and junior David Tilton. Tilton took 29th, right behind Alander, and Hale followed in 31st. Sophomore Josh Gordon and junior Sam Krumholz also had solid performances on Saturday, with Gordon taking 42nd and Krumholz taking 45th. Freshman Chris Brunnquell finished in 46th place.

The Jumbos will head to UMass-Dartmouth next week.
